ELLE DECOR celebrated the opening of the new Calvin Klein Home Shop at the Manhattan Lord & Taylor. Editors met and mingled with guests alongside Amy Mellen, creative director of Calvin Klein Home, and John Gidding, host of HGTV’s Curb Appeal: The Block and Dream Home 2011.

Housing Works at Bloomingdale’s
On Wednesday, March 23, ELLE DECOR Editor in Chief Michael Boodrocohosted an evening of exquisite tabletop decor at Bloomingdale’s flagship store in New York City. There were eight tabletop vignettes—by such top designers as Diane von Furstenberg and Kate Spade—on display. Each one was auctioned off, with the proceeds benefiting Housing Works.

Sunbrella Featured at The Brooklyn Museum
Sunbrella Fabrics recently donated 2,440 yards of fabric for the creation of reOrder, an architectural installation by Situ Studio currently on view at the Brooklyn Museum. The installation is featured in the Great Hall of the museum and will be on view through January 2012.

Here I have looked at forms of promotion that Elle Decoration do. They host very formal events to celebrate achievements, successes and other things.
For our promotion for our pop up shop I think we will have to be slightly more realistic and design flyers, posters, or we could even look into advertising on Adshels or Billboards.
